In celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the establishment of Department of Mathematics, over 200 alumni, guests, faculty members and friends of the Department gathered on 5 December 2015 for a joyous celebration dinner.

At the dinner, current Head Professor Michael Ng and former Heads, namely Mr Li Men Jan, Professor Kwong Man Kam, Professor Frederick John Hickernell, Professor Fang Kaitai, Professor Tang Tao and Professor Zhu Lixing who served the Department at different times during the Department’s history shared the fascinating stories about the Department’s development and key milestone it had passed since its founding in 1970.

Special guests of the dinner included Professor Ng Ching Fai, former Dean of Science and President and Vice-Chancellor of Hong Kong Baptist University, Professor Jiming Liu, Acting Dean of Science, Dr Tong Chong Sze, Professor Huang Hong Ci, Professor Peter Lam Che Bor, Dr Xue Weimin, Professor Tang Man Li, Professor Ma Zhi Ming, Professor Sheng Qin, Professor Jeltsch Rolf and Professor Steve Liu Wenbin, etc.

The dinner was co-organized by the Department of Mathematics and HKBU Alumni Association of Department of Association, and was filled up with a lot of joy and laughter from all participating guests.
